Inspirational Motivational of the Day: Arthur Boorman, a paratrooper in the Gulf War, made so many jumps that he blew out his back and knees. He grew depressed and packed on the pounds, ultimately requiring crutches to get around; doctors told the veteran he’d never be able to walk unassisted again. Akutsu awoke with a start. “Where am I?” she wondered. The room was completely barren; cold, antiseptic and clinical. The only furnishings were the steel-frame single bed she was on and a steel table with a steel chair. On the table, a laptop is open to a website called Twitter.
Shaking the cobwebs from her mind, Akutsu climbed out of bed and approached the table with the computer. Her fingers grazed the cold steel, tracing a line across the length of the table while she surveyed the stark room. “How did I get here?” Her eyes follow the white walls of the darkened room, illuminated only by the screen of the laptop. A door!
She ran to it, unsteady and almost crashing into it. It was closer than she expected. The darkness must be affecting her depth perception. A small piece of paper is taped to the door. There is a note on it that reads:
“The computer is your only way out.

Akutsu turns slowly to face the harsh glow of the laptop’s screen. She walks to the computer, becoming acutely aware of the unrelenting blink of the cursor in the “Compose New Tweet” window. She sits and, suddenly feeling groggy, types:
“@Favstar Iam Akutsu. What is This?”
She presses enter.
Suddenly the hiss of hydraulics overpowers her ears. The door to the room slides open. Akutsu steps out into the blinding light…
